One of the most common neurological disorders is caused by herniated spinal discs in some of the patients. Herniated spinal discs are spinal cord compressions produced by a tear in the ring of an intervertebral disc. It allows the material to bulge out beyond the damaged ring, compressing the spinal cord. It produces a loss of sensitivity in an area that depends on the compression zone. The most affected breeds are French Bulldog, Teckel and Cocker. However other breeds and half-breed dogs can be affected as well.
It is very important to treat these patients as quickly as possible. The success of the surgery and recovery of your animal depends on this.
Our center has a MRI service that allows us to quickly determine where the problem is and plan the surgery. We have the experience and the resources needed to complete an effective surgery.
